It's official: sweater weather is finally here. Battling the increasingly chilly weather in style requires one to have a diverse selection of sweaters at their fingertips. Are you sick of the old, ratty sweaters in your own closet? Luckily for you, we have gathered a few of our favorite DIYs to take your worn-out pullovers from trash to treasure. The best part? They only take a few minutes to complete. Staying cozy and looking chic has never been so easy (or fun!).

There is never a bad time to wear polka-dots and we love this fresh take on the classic print. Fluffy, 3D pom poms lend an extra sense of eccentricity to this already playful print. All you need are an assortment of pom poms and a needle and thread. Consider this a grown-up version of elementary school craft time.
Things You'll Need
- A Sweater
- Thick Thread (in the same shade as the pom-pom)
- Hand Needle
- Medium-sized pom-poms
- Scissors

Not in the mood to sew? This easy-peasy DIY takes seconds to finish and requires zero sewing. All you need are some studs and an old sweater. Insert the studs into the holes of your sweater (while being careful to make sure they are secure and don't create rips) and you're done! This could quite literally be done minutes before leaving the house. This DIY is quick and cute - two of our favorite things.

3. Sweater Makeover - Duplicate Stitch Heart Elbow Patches
It's so easy to get caught in the cycle of wearing nothing but grey, black, and beige in the fall. It's easy and seems to fit with the chilliness of the weather. A simple way to instantly inject some life into that dull old sweater of yours? Why, add some colour of course! We love the contrast of the ruby red against the grey, and the quirky heart patches are too cute for words!

4. Glitzy Cut-Out Applique Sweater
It isn't often that anyone considers a sweater to be a 'going-out' piece of clothing. Sweaters are comfy, cozy, and cute - but rarely glamorous. Right? Think again. With some glittering beads and a sultry applique, your trusty ol' sweater will be given a Cinderella moment and will transform from demure to dazzling. Can't find an applique you like? Design your own cut-out pattern and add some beading.

It pretty much goes without saying that everything is better with pockets, including sweaters. These cute cable-knit pockets are a quick knit and will add a cheerful pop of colour to an otherwise plain sweater. Knit a bunch in a few different colours and keep them on standby to add to your other sweaters/shirts/cardigans whenever you grow tired of them.
